Today we're packing (a carry-on backpack each) and taking care of all the last-minute details. Tomorrow (Friday) we fly: Medford-Denver-Heathrow-Lisbon. We have a hotel for a couple of nights in Lisbon and then we pick up a car and... We've been reading the guidebooks, and there's so much of interest in every corner of Portugal that our plan is to follow the weather and our whims.
In the interest of limiting the time I look at a computer screen, I'm planning to try a stripped-down blog for this trip. Mostly a few pics from the cell phone with limited writing. We'll see how it goes.
For those of you who don't remember what we look like, here's a snapshot from a few days ago, hiking in Ashland. That waterfall is usually just a trickle, but with the recent rains there's a bit more.
